  Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (English Edition) (AMM) was founded by the famous mechanical, mathematical, educational, and community leader Weizang CHIEN in 1980. This journal aims at broadcasting innovative research papers on mechanics, mathematical methods and modeling in mechanics as well as applied mathematics relevant to neoteric mechanics. The mathematical content featured in AMM is mainly related to advancements in mechanics, serving as a practical resource for researchers engaged in mechanical studies or related technological domains.

  Since its foundation, AMM has experienced rapid growth. Initially published quarterly in 1980, it transitioned to bimonthly in 1981 and eventually adopted a monthly publication frequency in 1985. Notably, the journal has been included in the EI Compendex since 1990 and in the Science Citation Index (SCI) since 1997, a significant milestone in the history of Chinese journals. From 2008 to 2023, the journal's SCI impact factor (IF) surged from 0.340 to 4.5. Additionally, AMM is indexed by numerous other renowned domestic and international databases and has received many awards.
